About

After a young woman finishes a long night of babysitting, her car dies and she is left stranded. All she has to worry about is waiting for help to come... until she realizes she's not alone.
"Several years ago, my mother told me a story of one night after a babysitting job, which she described to be one of the scariest nights of her life. Her car had died, help was going to be an hour wait, and as she sat in her car in the dark, two men began signaling with flashlights in the bushes in front of her, only to come out and start poking around the neighbor's house. After a tense few minutes of trying to not be seen, it was revealed that the men were cops on a stakeout, but she thought they were burglars.
This cinematic idea of the terrifying ordeal of being trapped in your car, witnessing a crime, hoping that you are not noticed, was the inspiration for the film, though I diverged from the original story quite a bit in the retelling. I decided to let it inspire this film. As we developed the script, I kept thinking back to Hitchcock's Rear Window, which has many similarities in story, and while this film was given a modern style, we studied what it was that made Hitchcock the master of suspense. The center of all his films, (and we hope this film as well) is having likable, relatable characters, and seeing them deal with danger in a compelling way."
